Objectives & Linguistic Content

Reactivate B1 level knowledge to prepare for the analysis and argumentation work specific to B2:

  • Consolidation of narrative tenses: imperfect, passé composé, pluperfect.
  • Review of argumentative structures: in my opinion, it seems to me that, in reality, however, on the other hand.
  • Introduction / reminder of complex structures:
  • subjunctive mood (appreciation, necessity)
  • reported speech (distancing, nuance)
  • conditional sentences (types 1–2).
  • Vocabulary: opinion, society, culture, international current affairs.

Learning Activities & Scenarios

  • Diagnostic assessment: brief presentation (2 min) on a topic of your choice to assess grammatical accuracy and discourse coherence.
  • Guided debate: express a point of view, nuance, rephrase.
  • Document analysis: identify thesis, arguments, implicit stakes in a short article or audiovisual extract.
  • Language workshop: active revision of the subjunctive mood and logical connectors.

Cultural Project

Analysis of an authentic document (press, report, column) to work on:

  • argumentative structure,
  • taking a position,
  • vocabulary enrichment in contemporary French-speaking context.

Strategies & Revision

  • Clarify your thinking before speaking: I would like to clarify…
  • Nuance: Admittedly…, however…
  • Identify the internal articulations of a text.
  • Rephrase to gain precision and avoid approximations.

Preparation for DELF B2

  • Oral production: defend a structured point of view.
  • Understanding of lengthy documents, with implicit content.
  • Written production: short synthesis and guided argumentation.
