The TCF Québec is recognised by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration du Québec (MIFI) for all immigration programmes to Québec, including:

How the exam works
Avant l’examen : Accueil du candidat
- Arrive on time at the location stated on your admission letter (any delay results in non-admission without refund).
- Present a valid photo ID (national ID card, passport, driving licence, or receipt of application).
- Follow the invigilator's instructions throughout the exam.
Getting settled in the exam room
- Leave all personal belongings (bags, mobile phones, smartwatches) in the designated area.
- Take your place as indicated by the invigilator.
- Wait for the signal before opening any test materials.
Tests may be taken on paper or by computer (TCF SO), depending on availability at the test centre.
Results and validity
- Results are sent to the test centre within 15 working days.
- The attestation is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
- It is kept for 10 years by France Éducation international.

The TCF Canada and the TCF Québec are two distinct tests, each recognised by a different authority. The TCF Canada is accepted by IRCC for federal immigration programmes, while the TCF Québec is recognised exclusively by the MIFI for Québec immigration programmes.
