Do you wish to immigrate or obtain Canadian citizenship?

TCF Canada is one of only two French tests officially recognised by the Canadian government (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada – IRCC).
As an approved centre, Alliance Française de Kunming supports you at every step: information, test preparation and administration, in a secure environment compliant with official standards.

Official recognition

TCF Canada is designed by France Éducation International, a public establishment under the supervision of the French Ministry of National Education.

It is recognised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as part of the main economic immigration programmes, including:

  • Express Entry (Express Entry)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Provincial Nominee Programme (PCP / PNP)

Target audience

TCF Canada is designed for any person aged 16 years and over, regardless of nationality or mother tongue, who wishes to:

  • Immigrate to Canada (file submission with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - IRCC).
  • Apply for Quebec (recognised since January 2022 by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration - MIFI).
  • Obtain Canadian citizenship.

No exemptions are granted for TCF Canada.

Examination session procedure

Before the examination:
  • Arrive on time at the location stated on your admission notice
(any delay results in non-admission without refund, except in exceptional circumstances justified within one month.)
  • Present a valid form of photographic identification
(identity card, passport, driving licence, asylum application receipt, etc.)
  • You must sign the attendance sheet.
  • A photograph is taken for TCF Canada candidates.
Installation in the examination room:
  • Place all personal belongings (only admission notice, identification and blue or black pen are permitted).
  • The invigilator reminds you of the instructions (nature of the tests, duration, penalties for cheating, results date).
  • Use of unauthorised materials is prohibited (books, mobile phones, headphones, etc.).

Tests may be taken on paper or on computer (TCF SO), depending on the centre's equipment.

The contents, duration and assessment procedures are strictly identical.

Results and validity

  • Results are sent to the examination centre within 15 working days after receipt of materials by France Éducation International.
  • The candidate must collect their certificate directly from the centre.
  • Validity: the certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

Minimum interval between two sittings

  • The minimum interval between two TCF Canada sittings has been reduced to 20 days, compared to 30 days previously. This change allows candidates to retake the examination within a shorter timeframe, while maintaining the reliability and validity of results.
