Element Details
Objective To assess French language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, oral expression, written expression) in the context of a Quebec immigration application.
Format Modular – candidates choose which modules to sit (one to four)
Available modules Listening comprehension: 29 questions – 25 min
Reading comprehension: 29 questions – 45 min
Oral expression: 3 tasks – 12 min
Written expression: 3 tasks – 60 min
Result CEFR level (A1 to C2) – a distinct level per module
Nature Modular (modules selected according to immigration requirements)

Expected competencies

  • Identify general and specific information in various texts (articles, emails, announcements...)
  • Understand the overall meaning and intention of a text
  • Analyse the structure and coherence of a text
  • Infer the meaning of words or expressions from context

Test marking

The module is automatically marked by a computerised system. Human intervention only occurs in cases of ambiguity on the answer sheet.

Marking takes into account the level and difficulty of the questions to assign a score that represents the candidate's level.
